The Revelation to John

I just wanted to share with you about what I'm learning through that other book that God chose the Apostle John to write: The Book of Revelation.

"Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy,
and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it,
for the time is near."
(Rev. 1:3)

I've been reading the first couple chapters - the letters to the seven churches of Asia Minor. Each of those letters is a loving challenge from our Savior. And the entire book of Revelation reminds us to see the "bigger picture," of the spiritual nature of our existence.

As Bruce has said so many times, God is building a testimony through JOHN. A testimony of lives touched by Jesus. Changed by Jesus. A testimony of the love of God - that we can barely comprehend:

"O LORD, what is man that you regard him,
or the son of man that you think of him?"
(Psa. 144:3)

How He loves us, as to include us in His kingdom work! Let us pray, let us give. And let us pray. And yes - even fast. And let us keep on keeping on - and here's the key - "with all His energy that He powerfully works within [us]"(Col. 1:29).

Praise Jesus!

The Battle Belongs to the Lord

Each one of us has had times in our lives that we feel we are up against what seems to be an insurmountable enemy. It is during these times we need an effective battle plan.
In scriptures the battle plan is clear: seek God's face for a Word, acknowledge dependence, adopt the correct battle position and finally wait on Him for deliverance.
Psalm 43:5 says to "Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him the help of my countenance, and my God."
Impossibilities can lead to questioning God's faithfulness. Goliath killer, David did it....
"How long, O Lord?".. "Will your forget me forever?"
If we allow the enemy to plant deception of God's abandonment we can become hopeless. David chose not to stay in the enemy's lie but instead claimed His victory in who he was. "Hey now, I am a child of the Living God!"

From the pit of depression, he
wrote; "I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord for He has been good to me."
He willfully moved away from the enemy's lie and into the source of his hope.
If Satan can't destroy your belief in God, he will seek to destroy your concept of who you are as a child of God. However, remember he can't do anything about your position in Christ!!
He will try and get you to believe your position is not true, leading to a powerless life lived as if your not God's child.
In tumulous trials that seem to last forever and in the waiting time for visions to come to fruition we can be shaken in our foundation. We can struggle with our faith. Satan wins if he can destroy our faith. But knowing whose child we are and marrying our impossibles with God's power renews our hope. He is our hope in which all impossibilities are surmountable!
Obviously, the ministry of John is facing many attacks right now coming in all directions. Bruce, we want to encourage you and all who seek victory with you. We ask: Our God, Our Salvation,
(Is. 64) "Tear open the skies and come down to earth so that the mountains will tremble before you. Like a fire that burns twigs, like a fire that makes water boil, let your enemies know who you are. Then all nations will shake with fear when they see you. You have done amazing things we did not expect. You came down, and the mountains trembled before you. No one has ever seen a God besides you, who helps the people who trust you. You help those who enjoy doing good and remember how you want them to live."

Please, all you bloggers join in prayer! Let's call on God to make the mountains to tremble, to tear open the skies, and cause nations to shake with an outpouring of His amazing power. We need miracles not only for John but for the attack on Bruce's family.
